Our goal is to run our little business responsibly as possible, so our practices are constantly evolving. We know we’re just a drop in the ocean, but we want to do our bit anyway. ​

 

ABOUT OUR PRINTER

​​

Our tarot and oracle decks are printed by Generation Press, based near Brighton, England. We’re proud to work with them (not just for their exceptional print quality, but for their genuine commitment to people and planet).

Why we chose them...

• Local production helps reduce transport emissions.

• B Corp Certified since 2022, with a score of 119.

• Previously EMAS certified (2013–2018), demonstrating a long-term commitment to environmental improvement.

ABOUT OUR DECKS

​

• Cards: Printed on Gallerie Art Satin, an FSC-certified stock produced by an EMAS-certified mill.

​​

• Tuck boxes: Made from FSC-certified Colorplan paper, which is recyclable, biodegradable, free from heavy metals and harmful chlorine; used for Oak, Ash & Thorn (Volume 1, 1.1), Smoke, Ash & Embers (Volume 2), MINI Oak, Ash & Thorn (Volume 3), Heartwood (Volume 5).

• Two-piece box, Style A: Colorplan paper lid. Corrugated cardboard base made primarily from recycled fibers; used for Oak, Ash & Thorn (Volume 1.2), Smoke, Ash & Embers (Volume 2.1).

​

• Two-piece box, Style B: Les Naturals paper lid made from 100% recycled waste paper, unbleached, Blue Angel eco-label certified. Corrugated cardboard base made primarily from recycled fibres; used for The Winding (Volume 6).

ABOUT OUR PACKAGING

 

We’re committed to using the most environmentally friendly packaging options we can find. That means continually reviewing our materials, reducing waste where possible, and reusing packaging whenever we can.

Paper packaging...

​

• Plain brown tissue paper: Made from 100% recycled content. Recyclable, compostable, and biodegradable. Sourced from the UK or EU. ​

​

• Printed brown tissue paper: Made from FSC-certified recycled kraft paper. Printed in the UK using water-based, solvent-free inks. Recyclable, compostable, and biodegradable.​

​​

• Glassine envelopes: Fully recyclable, compostable, and biodegradable. Made in the UK. 

​​

• Small brown bags (phasing out): Made from recyclable Kraft paper. Manufactured in the USA and sourced via a UK supplier. ​​​​​​​​​

​

Printed materials...

​​

• Inserts, preview cards, prints, and stickers: Printed locally on FSC-certified, 100% recycled paper. Wherever possible, inserts are double-sided and stickers are included to encourage reuse rather than disposal.​​​​​

​

Presentation packaging...

​

• Coin presentation boxes: Made primarily from Les Naturals Sable board, manufactured from 100% recycled waste paper. The material is unbleached, uncoloured, and carries the Blue Angel eco-label, with a distinctive natural texture created from recycled fibres. The internal fitment is made from sturdy grey board and the boxes are finished with simple black letterpress printing. Designed for long-term storage and display, these boxes are intended to be retained and reused rather than discarded after delivery.

Shipping materials...

​​

• Shipping boxes: Made from recyclable and biodegradable materials wherever possible. We also reuse boxes and packing materials, so some orders may arrive in pre-loved box packaging.​​

​

• ​Packing tape: FSC-certified paper tape. Paper sourced from Germany and manufactured in the UK. 

​

• Thermal shipping labels: Paper-based direct thermal labels that require no ink or toner cartridges, helping reduce consumable waste. Sourced via Royal Mail.

​

• Document wallets: Made from paper-based biodegradable materials and chosen as a lower-impact alternative to traditional plastic wallets.

​

• Recycled green mailers: Made from 100% recycled plastic and printed with water-based inks. Recyclable where facilities exist. Produced by NoIssue with carbon-offset delivery.​​​​

​

Protective packaging...

​

​​Depending on the order, we may use a variety of protective packaging materials.​​

​

• Corrugated cardboard inserts: Made in the UK from renewable and recyclable materials. 

​

• Honeycomb paper wrap: 100% paper, recyclable, renewable, and compostable.

​

• Packing peanuts: Made from starch-based loose fill. Biodegradable, compostable, and water-soluble. 

 

• Flexi-Hex® sleeves (phasing out): Made from FSC-certified material containing 100% recycled content. Sourced via a UK supplier.​​

​

• ​Shredded paper (phasing out): Made from 100% recycled kraft paper. Recyclable, biodegradable, compostable, and sourced from responsibly managed forests.

 

ABOUT OUR SUPPLIERS

​

To keep our supply chain as green as possible, we prioritise working with suppliers who share our sustainability values, and we choose local suppliers wherever practical.

​

OUR CARBON COMMITMENT

​​

As part of our ongoing efforts to reduce our environmental impact, we offset the carbon emissions associated with parcel shipping.

​

​Between 2023 and 2024, we estimate our shipping activity generated approximately 9.71 tonnes of CO₂e. To balance this impact, we purchased 10 tonnes of certified carbon removal through Ecologi, providing full coverage with a small buffer.

​

Rather than retroactively offsetting all historical emissions, we've chosen to focus on recent years and move forward with a clear, measurable commitment.

​

From 2025 onward, we are committed to offsetting 100% of our shipping-related emissions each year while continuing to reduce our footprint through lighter packaging, thoughtful delivery options, and responsible suppliers.

​

We calculate shipping emissions using a consistent, data-based methodology that reflects parcel weights and delivery destinations, and review these figures annually.
