Thistledown is an oracle deck created by Stephanie Burrows and Illustrated by Adam Oehlers.
 
DECK SIZE: Thistledown (Volume 4.1) consists of 50 oracle cards and double-sided companion reference sheets with card meanings. Two blank cards protect the deck.
 
CARD SIZE: The cards measure 70mm x 110mm (approximately 2.75 x 4.33 inches), with white borders and rounded corners. 
 
CARD BACKS: The cards feature beautiful, reversible card backs.
 
CARD STOCK: The cards are printed on eco-friendly 400gsm FSC-accredited, carbon-balanced paper, using vegetable-based inks, and are protected with a matte, anti-scuff laminate.
 
BOX: The cards are housed in a light brown 350gsm tuck-flap box with an easy-to-open lid and a glued base, finished with a letterpress woodland design printed in black, vegetable-based ink.
 
Each copy of Thistledown (Volume 4.1) includes a uniquely numbered Certificate of Authenticity.

Since we want to keep Thistledown as eco-friendly as possible, no physical guidebook accompanies this tarot deck, and there are no plans for one. Instead, we include double-sided companion reference sheets featuring thoughtfully chosen meanings that depict the nature of each card, allowing the deck to be read intuitively. 
 
An accompanying black-and-white PDF guidebook will be emailed automatically upon purchase.
 
WHAT IS AN ORACLE DECK? 
 
Unlike tarot decks, which follow a fixed system of 78 cards (22 Major Arcana and 56 Minor Arcana), oracle decks come in many forms and sizes. Some include just 20 cards, while others contain 100 or more. Cards may be tiny or oversized, and themes can range from lunar cycles and animal symbolism to cryptids, folklore, or a creator’s daily wanderings.
 
That variety is part of what makes oracle decks so special.
 
With Thistledown, we chose to create a 50-card oracle deck, with each card featuring a keyword and an illustration centred on that concept.
 
Oracle cards are wonderfully flexible and can be interpreted in many ways, depending on your mood or situation. You might pull a single card to guide your day, draw several cards to gain a new perspective, place one on your altar for inspiration, or use the deck for goal setting, introspection, story writing, or journaling. Or you might simply pull a card because you love the artwork and want to spend a moment in a world different from your own.
