Additionally, the deck includes seven bonus cards exclusive to the first printing (a selection of these may be offered for purchase in the future if there is a second print run).
- CARD SIZE: The cards will measure 70mm x 120mm (approximately 2.75 x 4.73 inches), with white borders and rounded corners.
- CARD BACKS: The cards will feature beautiful, reversible card backs.
- CARD STOCK: The cards will be printed on eco-friendly 400gsm FSC-accredited, carbon-balanced paper, using vegetable-based inks, and will be protected with a matte, anti-scuff laminate.
- BOX: The cards will be housed in a two-part box with a grey lid, made from responsibly sourced materials and designed with recyclability in mind. The lid will feature a letterpress woodland design printed in black, vegetable-based ink. A small hole in the base allows the cards to be easily removed by gently pushing them out.
Each copy of The Winding (Volume 6) will include a uniquely numbered Certificate of Authenticity.

Since we want to keep The Winding as eco-friendly as possible, no physical guidebook will accompany this tarot deck, and there are no plans for one. Instead, we will include double-sided companion reference sheets featuring thoughtfully chosen keywords that depict the nature of each card, allowing the deck to be read intuitively.
An accompanying black-and-white PDF guidebook will be emailed automatically upon purchase.
A BIT OF BACKGROUND
For those familiar with our previous deck, Heartwood, The Winding picks up where that world leaves off, stepping just beyond its familiar boundaries.
The deck follows a spider who lives in an old wooden shed at the back of the Heartwood property. Leaving this known place behind, they venture into the forest and onward toward the nearest village.
For a spider, this can be a dangerous world because, well, they're a spider (and to some people, spiders can be scary). But in their mind, this simply isn't the case. They don't even know what being scary is.
Their winding path reflects how we each learn to navigate the world. This is a deck about exploration, courage, and finding your way one step at a time.
THE MAJOR ARCANA
The Major Arcana follows the spider’s journey through the forest, reflecting the 22 archetypes of the Rider-Waite-Smith tradition.
Our Fool (the spider) appears on most Major Arcana cards as they move deeper into the woods, encountering moments of challenge, growth, and discovery aligned with traditional meanings.
THE MINOR ARCANA
In the Minor Arcana, the spider reaches the nearest village and continues their journey alone.
The four suits explore different corners of village life: quiet lanes, doorsteps, market stalls, windowsills, and hidden spaces. No other animals appear, but each card is rich with atmosphere and character.
THE WINDING DIVINATION COIN (antique silver-effect finish)
You’ll also receive one double-sided divination coin in a Winding theme.
One side features our Fool, nestled within their silken tent, while the reverse shows our spider framed by a winding wreath of foliage, with a guiding star overhead.
This coin is cast in brass with an antique silver-effect finish and measures 38mm in diameter (approximately 1.5 inches). It comes presented in a sturdy box and includes an informational guide card with suggested instructions.
You can learn more about this coin by clicking here.
This divination coin makes a thoughtful addition to your practice. It can be used to clarify a reading, help with decision-making, or simply carried with you as a small, pocket-sized companion.
HOW TO USE
Hold the coin in your hand, close your eyes, and focus on your question. When you feel ready, toss the coin into the air.
Resting spider facing up (nestled within their silken tent) may suggest NO, WAIT, or AVOID, or point to something improbable or unlikely.
Alert spider facing up (guiding star overhead) may suggest YES, PROCEED, or ENGAGE, or point to something possible or imaginable.
SHIPPING INFORMATION
Please note that all shipping times are estimates and not guaranteed. While most packages arrive within a reasonable timeframe, occasional delays can occur due to factors outside our control, such as customs processing, postal disruptions, or seasonal demand. In rare cases, this may result in extended delivery times. Rest assured, delayed parcels almost always arrive safely... they simply take a little longer than expected.
We always aim to dispatch your order promptly, but once it has left our hands, delivery is managed by the shipping carrier. We’re unable to provide more tracking information than what is supplied by the carrier (where applicable).
CUSTOMS INFORMATION
Any customs fees or VAT taxes that may apply to your order are the buyer’s responsibility.
We’re not liable for customs charges or delays caused by customs processing. Customs policies vary widely by country, so we recommend checking your local government’s customs guidelines before placing an order.
The Winding + matching coin (antique silver-effect finish)
In The Winding, suits don’t always show a literal number of objects (such as five swords or three cups). Instead, card meanings are conveyed through imagery, atmosphere, and visual storytelling.
Because of this, symbolism isn’t always as immediately obvious as in some of our previous decks. While we wouldn’t describe The Winding as an advanced deck, it does invite a slower, more intuitive style of reading.
